2018 Conference and Trade Show

September 7-8, 2018

2018 ANNUAL CONFERENCE & TRADE SHOW

September 7 - 8, 2018

Copper Mountain Resort

This year's Annual Conference and Trade Show will be informative, to say the least.  There is a lot going on legislatively, including an attempt on the part of the liquor stores to gut the bill passed last year allowing grocery and convenience stores to sell full strength beer.  CWPMA is actively involved in defeating this attempt and, by the fall, it will be clear if the coalition succeeded.  We plan to have a panel of industry experts speak to the outcomes and the impact on our membership.  There will also be updates on the 2018 legislative session and a preview of the 2019 challenges and the Association's strategy for addressing these challenges.

Back to the mountains, but a new venue.  You may remember attending a conference at Copper Mountain Resort a number of years ago.  The stories revolve around the "tent".  Well, things have changed.  The tent is gone, replaced by a beautiful conference center.  There are many new on-site restaurants and a spa.  Located just ten minutes from Frisco, there is a charming downtown with good shopping and other restaurants within easy driving distance.  And, of course, the discount shops are just down the road!  If you do want to pop into the Oktoberfest, it is about 20 minutes to Breckenridge.

Our keynote speaker is Jennifer Powers, author of Oh, shift!  A well known presenter, Jennifer has spoken to a quarter million people worldwide in front of large corporate companies including Xerox, Key Bank, Addidas and Intel.  Desiring to reach smaller audiences, Jennifer joins us to address the power of change.  Her message is powerful yet simple: step into a more positive, empowered mindset that supports change and accountability for success, both personally and professionally.  She is engaged and stimulates audience to think and change.  As one participant said:

"The best part about Jennifer's Oh shift! presentation was how she made us a part of the process. Highly interactive.... very experiential....the message was right on and I left with a feeling of I-CAN-DO-THIS!"

We're changing the golf venue as well to The River Course at Keystone. If you want to play, be sure to act fast as last year we sold out in the Spring.  By summertime, we were wait listed.   Golf Advisor says of this course:

The course is in fantastic shape and offers a variety of holes with elevation changes, target golf, and some open holes.  The variety keeps you engaged and on your toes.  The greens are exceptional rolling true and fast. A must play for any golfer!

Our Trade Show will be another great venue for our partners, many of whom have been in attendance for years.  And, message to our Associates and Friends, this year our venue affords us the opportunity to offer some premium booth space.  So, if you want to be visible when quests arrive, register now to be in this premium space!

Last, but certainly not least, we have an evening of fun planned for you:

  CWPMA's OLYMPIC COMPETITION

That's right.  Have fun with your friends as you joust, ski, and river raft - just a few of the games we have planned for youRemember to dress casually so you can join in the fun.

As always, the CWPMA team looks forward to seeing you this Fall!
